World-renowned American-born and naturalized Swiss songbird, dancer, actress and author Tina Turner is dead.

The "Queen of Rock 'n' Roll", as she was widely referred to, died on Wednesday at her home in Küsnacht, Switzerland, near Zurich at 83.

Turner’s demise was announced by her publicist Bernard in a statement but did not disclose the cause.

Apparently, she had a stroke in recent years and was known to be struggling with a kidney disease and other illnesses.
