Tanzanian top musician Diamond Platnumz in the weekend flew rhumba and Lingala maestro Koffi Olomide from his Democratic Republic of Congo to Tanzania for a collabo.
Koffi arrived in Dar es Salaam on Saturday and was received by Wasafi Classic Baby (WCB) Records boss Diamond who then spend time with him at his lavish residence.
The DRC music legend expressed his excitement at meeting Diamond and working with him in a new musical project which they were shooting a video for in the city.
“Am happy to meet the King of the country, Diamond and I’m here to work with Diamond, to do something to amaze Africa and the world and am sure that it will be a very big success. My language is music, his language is music, so expected something big,” an excited Koffi said.
The Congolese, who has ruled his music genre for more than three decades, shared a preview of a video they are shooting for a remix they are doing together.
He is set to feature in Diamond’s soon to be released studio album.
“Already in Studio to make Good music with @DiamondoPlatnumz You won’t be disappointed. Boss Ya Mboka,” Koffi posted.
On his part, the Bongo Flava king was also excited to work with Olomide in his highly-anticipated album and he teased his fans on the expected club banger.
“Koffi is an icon of Africa and the world and having him here is a pleasure. Kwangu mimi ukiniambia Mwanzamuziki wa Afrika ambaye ni icon ni Koffi, na leo kuwa naye Tanzania na kuhakikisha kitu kubwa kinakuja ni faraja sana kwangu,” Diamond said.
