Media personality and Citizen TV news anchor Trevor Ombija revealed how he faced a hard and inevitable shock after being dumped by the woman of her life.

While speaking to a local media, Ombija revealed he was left in shock wondering what went wrong and what he could have changed, but all were too late.

He made his revelation after he was asked by the interviewer if he was single or taken.

“Right now, I’m single but I used to be in a relationship and was badly heartbroken. Hii roho imebaki hapa ni ya kupiga damu,” he laughed off while revealing.

He revealed that the reason he is still single is that he wants to heal from the heartbreak, noting that he is slowly fixing himself first.

“I was badly heartbroken. I am single and not looking because I need to fix myself first. Everybody deserves the best version of the other person. Don’t go into a relationship when you are broken. Right now I will admit it,” said Ombija.

The news anchor also revealed that he thought the relationship was a perfect one, as he had stayed with the woman for over 10 years and had even paid the dowry.

He noted that even though the relationship had its ups and downs, he never wished to split from the woman he loved from the bottom of his heart.

"I am from a relationship that lasted 10 years. It is one of those relationships that were over, then they are back again. I actually took dowry to her home six years ago, then she suddenly left. She said that she needed to find herself," he added.

The interviewer wanted to know whether after their break up he went back to the parents to demand dowry, but according to him, that’s being petty.

He further shocked netizens by revealing that he and his ex-girlfriend are still good friends and even gave an example of a recently broken-up couple Governor Alfred Mutua and his ex-wife Lilian Ng’ang’a.

He noted that the secret is being mature and further advised people to avoid jumping into the next relationships without healing and with the previous drama.

“That’s being petty, I left it. But we are still very good friends. Ground haitaki makasiriko. Take a look at Mutua and Ng’ang’a, they broke up but still talking, that’s maturity. The only thing is don’t take your drama to the next relationship,” he added.

Ombija noted he tried so much to salvage the relationship, but all his efforts bore no fruits and he had to accept the reality.

“I tried to force issues for a while. You know when you are dumped and then you try to insist that you can work it out. Ukiachwa achika,” he said.

The popular personality is currently working on his peace of mind and improving his body by hitting the gym.

“The only therapy I have is the gym. There is no day you’ll go to the gym and it tells you I don’t love you anymore. The weights will always be heavy; you can count on that. You can’t count on men,” Trevor said.
