Bongo flava musician Ben Pol has dismissed allegations making the rounds on social media that he survived on his wealthy ex-wife Anerlisa Muigai’s money.
The Moyo Mashine hit maker came out to clear his name after reports started circulating that the star lived a lavish life thanks to the Keroche Breweries heiress fat bank accounts.
The two tied the knot last year but ended their relationship after Pol filed for divorce in a Dar Es Salaam court two months ago.
After the divorce, netizens noticed that the bongo musician had sharing photos and videos of the lavish life he used to flaunt when he was still with Anerlisa.
Among those who commented at Pol’s now less flamboyant lifestyle is popular Classic FM presenter Maina Kageni.

“Every time I saw Ben Pol posting himself in Range Rovers, I knew they were not his. And the fact that he did not feel anything posting them is sad. How do you floss with things that are not yours? You even hashtag #softlife?” he posed.
He went on, “He was left with nothing, he is currently driving the first car he was driving when I met him. I knew it was gonna end in premium tears. When you find him in a certain lane, leave him there.”
Anerlisa, who spoke days after the Tanzanian singer filed to end their holy matrimony, advised fellow women never to upgrade their men’s lives.
“Leave him as you met him, leave it as it was. If the guy is serious with you, he will upgrade himself for you using his own effort and resources,” she posted.
However, responded to the claims, Ben Pol said he was not bothered at all and that he was focusing on positive vibes only.
“What people say has never bothered me. About the wealth and age, these are things that have no chance in my mind. My attention was on my partner. I have heard so many stories about me and that’s kinda funny and the stories are always false,” Pol said.
