KTN News Swahili presenter Lofty Matambo on Sunday announced his resignation from the Mombasa Road-based tv station.

During his last bulletin at 7pm on the Standard Group Limited tv station, Matambo thanked the media station for helping him grow as a journalist and anchor in his 7 years there.

“My supporters you’re worthy as gold. Let us continue to value each other even outside of the newsroom and we will meet again pretty soon,” said Matambo as he bid the station farewell.

He hosted the Kimasomaso talk show alongside presenting the Swahili prime-time bulletin and hosting Shangwe na Matambo show on Standard Group’s Radio Maisha on Sundays.

Matambo thanked his KTN bosses and colleagues, amid reports he could be headed for Nation Center’s Nation Tv Swahili desk following the exit of Jane Ngoiri earlier this year.

“They reached out to me and I answered the call, the call to say goodbye and pursue other things outside The Standard Media Group. Thanks to Standard Group PLC for this chance. Thanks to journalists, fellow anchors and editors. We shall meet again,” Matambo added.
