Inooro tv has been forced to issue an apology after the admin of its Twitter handle angrily bashed Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) CEO Ezekiel Mutua, christened moral cop.

Dr Mutua had, in a tweet on Saturday, blasted unnamed radio presenters without journalistic training for turning radio to be about sex, women, feminism and misogyny.

“How sad that we have reduced a powerful tool like radio to platforms for degrading women,” posted the KFCB boss.

But in a fit of anger, without knowing they were using the official Inooro tv twitter handle, the admin responded to Dr Mutua saying “The same way you degraded HARAMBEE STARS.”

On Sunday evening, the tv station owned by SK Macharia’s Royal Media Services issued an apology to the moral cop, saying it went out by mistake and was not an official position.

“We apologise for a message posted on this handle in reply to a tweet by Dr. Mutua. We have since established it was sent by mistake.

The message does NOT reflect the views of Inooro TV or Royal Media Services. We are dealing with the matter internally.”

Dr Mutua immediately responded saying he had accepted the apology, with his initial comments believed to target Shaffie Weru, Neville Muasya and DJ Joe Mfalme who have since been sacked over their offensive remarks on their The Lift Off show last week.

Swalanyeti.co.ke can only hope the admin will not lose their job for the mistake that can happen to any social media handler if one forgets to switch between their personal and corporate social media accounts before posting.
