A section of Kenyans on social media has expressed anger after it emerged some airlines will continue offering services to international tourists despite President Uhuru Kenyatta’s cessation of movement order meant to curb spread of Coronavirus.

They raised issue after social media user @colourmequeerke posted statements issued by Safarilink and AirKenya saying they will continue carrying foreign tourists despite Uhuru’s travel restrictions on air, water, road transport into and out of five disease infested counties.

There has been confusion among Kenyans and in the various sectors of the economy after Kenyatta’s Friday directive was followed by numerous corrections and verifications.

Many of the Kenyan social media wondered why the airlines were being favoured yet road passengers and matatu operators were paying a heavy price as they are forced to strictly comply with the presidential directive meant to tame surging Covid-19 third wave.
