The second wife of Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho has filed for a divorce at the Kadhi's Count.

Madina Giovanni Fazzini told the count in an affidavit that Joho moved out of their matrimonial home in 2013, abandoning her with their two children.

The couple was married in 2011 but by January 2013; they were living in separate quarters until June the same year when Joho moved out of their home.

Madina said that the substance of their marriage has been dissipated and lacked basis since then.

“The substance of our marriage has been dissipated and has no basis be sustained from a league and/or social standpoint,” Madina said in the affidavit.

According to the estranged Madina, she continued living alone in their matrimonial home until 2020, when she decided to move out as well.

Madina dismissed the possibility of reconciliation or compromise in their marriage.

“There is no hope or possibility of reconciliation or compromise of whatsoever nature or kind between the petitioner and respondent,” the court papers read.

This would be the second divorce the governor will go through should the court dissolve the marriage.

Joho's first wife was similarly divorced.
