Self-proclaimed president of comedy in Africa, Eric Omondi has revealed that he regrets sharing his controversial post distancing himself from the responsibilities of former Citizen TV news anchor Jacque Maribe’s son.

Speaking in an interview with presenter Mzazi Willy M Tuva, Eric said his words came out of anger while defending himself after Maribe and her sister accused her of neglecting his son.

He revealed that at first; he was chasing clout while promoting singer Miss P’s new song dubbed baby shower before things took a drastic turn to reality.

He stated that after Maribe’s public remark that he is a deadbeat father, netizens on social media began interfering with his businesses and his clients, leaving him with no option but to set the records straight.

Eric further insisted that he still wants a DNA test done but would take full responsibility for the 7-year-old boy regardless of the outcome.

“It’s me who wants the DNA, not Jacque Maribe. She has declined for 7 years… When I made the post, I selfishly thought about my career. Personally, I’m not happy about what is going on. But I have decided regardless of the outcome I will officially take care of the child because of what happened,” he said.

In the same interview, the comedian revealed he is not expecting a baby with singer Miss P as they were only clout chasing to promote her music.
