The former First Lady for Machakos County Lilian Ng’ang’a has come out to share the ugly side of their breakup with Governor Alfred Mutua.
Nganga was speaking at a press conference in Nairobi on Thursday morning where she accused her former sweetheart of threatening her and claimed her life was in danger.
She held the press briefing in the company of her lawyer Philip Murgor where she read her statement revealing damning details taking shape in the background of what has been perceived as an amicable breakup.
In her statement, Nganga dismissed Mutua’s assertions that they were still friends and their separation was amicable.
“On repeated occasions and as recent as two weeks ago, I've seen Mr. Mutua state in print and social media that we are still friends, and our separation has been amicable,” the statement read

“These are Mr. Mutua's usual theatrics and lies. Mr. Mutua and I have not spoken since late August, 2021.”
Nganga also revealed that Mutua had gone to her residence in Kileleshwa and took away her car without her knowledge or consent. Lilian said Mutua proceeded to sell the vehicle to a third party whom she asked to be on notice that she maintains claims of ownership.
“On 8th September 2021, Mr. Mutua accompanied by his police bodyguard, Martin Nzinghi arrived at my apartment parking lot at Kileleshwa, Nairobi, and without my knowledge or consent and using a spare key which he had illegally obtained, drove away my personal motor vehicle KBY 186G — a car which had been fully registered in my name since 2014. Mr. Mutua proceeded to fraudulently transfer the ownership of the car in the log book into his name, and thereafter sold the vehicle to a 3rd party. I filed a case which is pending in court so I will not comment further on it, except to ask the purchaser to be on notice that I maintain my claim to ownership,” the statement read in part.
Nganga further claimed Mutua had laundered her 1800 shares (45 per cent) in Ndash Enterprises Limited to her sister. Ndash Enterprises is the company that owns the luxurious A & L Hotel that was co-owned by the then lovebirds.
She termed the transfer fraudulent as she asserted she did not make any such transfers.
She explained that the illegal transfer defrauded her of 90 per cent of her shareholding in the company she incorporated on June 20, 2014, as she produced.
“Along the same fraudulent conduct, Mr. Mutua recently and illegally transferred my shares in the Ndash Enterprises LTD (the hotel company) to his sister Ann Mbandi Mutua. Again, a clear act of fraud. At no point did I execute a transfer of my shares or otherwise transfer my 1800 shares (45%) shareholding in the company to him, let alone his sister,” the statement continued.
Nganga also revealed the two had a sit-down in the company of their 2 mutual friends to discuss their breakup. She claimed that Mutua angrily termed her as his enemy and would crush her to ash and also harm people close to her.
“Mutua angrily termed me as his Enemy No 1, and threatened to "crush me to ash", as he takes away everything I have, and own. Indeed, this has already started as he has demanded that I refund any money he has ever given to me or made available for my use. He also threatened to harm persons close to me,” the statement read.
In the long statement, Nganga also claimed the governor threatened her friends with death and boasted of his influence saying nothing will happen to him.
“He stated that he had offers from people to kill persons close to me, and threatened that he might indeed take up the offers to teach some of them a lesson,” she added.
“He arrogantly stated that he was a very important and powerful person in this country, and he can get away with anything and everything he has planned to do to me, and my friends.”
Nganga said she had reported both cases to the police and called upon the IG and DPP to expedite investigations and bring Mutua to book.
“I therefore appeal to the Inspector General of Police and the Director Public Prosecution, to expedite the investigation and charge Mr. Alfred Mutua for the serious crimes he has so far committed - before my friends and I are harmed,” Nganga said.
