It’s official, KTN News senior anchor and Editor Ben Kitili is headed back to the Twin Towers situated along Kimathi Street in the Nairobi Central Business District.

Sources close to the two television stations have confirmed that in deed Kitili will be joining NTV at the end of August after working at the Mombasa Road based media house for 8 years.

He will be joining the Nation Center based tv station as NTV News Editor, a position our source says will be an equivalent of a Deputy Managing Editor.

“Yes, Ben Kitili is headed back to Kimathi Street as a News Editor at NTV,” confirmed our source at Nation Center.

The soft spoken but very talented journalist joined KTN in July 2013 as a news anchor before rising through the ranks to senior anchor and editor at the station linked to the Moi family.

Kitili will deputise NTV Managing Editor Joseph Warungu, who rejoined the listed regional media company after working as the Head of African News and Current Affairs at the BBC.

Our source at KTN confirmed that Kitili was serving his one-month notice before he finally bids farewell to his KTN News colleagues and embrace his former colleagues at Nation Center.

The senior anchor, who is married to Amina Mude and has two children, graduated from Daystar University in 2009 with a bachelor of arts degree in Communication (Electronic Media).

Kitili started his media career as a sports reporter and anchor at K24 in May 2008 while in his third year at university before joining the main news desk as a current affairs reporter and prime time anchor in 2009.

In December 19, 2011, he joined NTV as a political reporter and prime time anchor until July 2013 when he joined Standard Group Limited’s KTN as political affairs editor and senior news anchor.

He held the post until March 2021 when KTN restructured and adopted a convergence model, that saw him appointed Program Editor, 9pm news editor and TV desk senior news anchor.
