Reality TV star Kim Kardashian on Tuesday faced a backlash after she chartered a private jet to fly her team to a remote island to celebrate her 40th birthday lavishly during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Kardashian and her inner circle were last week dancing, swimming and kayaking with whales on a private island to "pretend things were normal just for a brief moment in time," she tweeted.
According to TMZ, Kim included her sisters Khloe and Kourtney and her half-sister Kendall Jenner as well as some celebrities in the trip aboard a Boeing 777 plane.
Kim’s rapper husband Kanye West was reported to have joined the wild and luxurious party somewhere during the week.
She wrote: "Before Covid, I don't think any of us truly appreciated what a simple luxury it was to be able to travel and be together with family and friends in a safe environment," she wrote.
