Coca-Cola Europacific Partners Belgium has announced a product recall in consultation with the Federal Agency for the Safety of the Food Chain (AFSCA) due to excessive chlorate content in specific beverages.

The recall affects several well-known brands in cans and returnable glass bottles, marked with production codes ranging from 328 GE to 338 GE.

"In consultation with the Federal Agency for the Safety of the Food Chain (AFSCA), we are recalling a number of products due to excessively high chlorate content," the company stated in a statement.

The affected brands include Coca-Cola, Sprite, Fanta, Fuze Tea, Minute Maid, Nalu, Royal Bliss, and Tropico, with all variants, including zero and light options, under scrutiny.

Coca-Cola Europacific Partners Belgium assured consumers that quality and safety remain their top priorities, stating, "We apologise to consumers and our business partners."

Consumers can identify the impacted products by locating the production code on the bottom of cans or the neck or label of returnable glass bottles.

Notably, the recall does not extend to PET plastic bottles, fountain drinks, or tetra packs, which are deemed safe for consumption.

The company clarified the product details for those affected:

 • Coca-Cola: Original Taste, Zero Sugar, Light, and other flavours in 200ml and 1L glass bottles, 150ml, 250ml, and 330ml cans.
