KCB has renewed its sponsorship of the World Rally Championship (WRC) Safari Rally for the fifth consecutive year committing Sh209 million towards organizing the 2025 event.

KCB says the sponsorship for the event set for March 20 – 23, 2025 in Naivasha is part of its commitment to developing talent, fostering national cohesion and driving economic growth.

The Kenyan bank has also announced it is sponsoring four local rally drivers during this year’s WRC Safari Rally - Nikhil Sachania, Evans Kavisi, Tinashe Gatimu and Karan Patel.

Gatimu is expected to make her debut during this year’s spectacular event as she joins the KCB racing team, while Kavisi is set to make a comeback to rallying after a year-long hiatus.

During the official media launch in Nairobi on Thursday, KCB Group CEO Paul Russo said KCB views the motorsport event as a platform to showcase Kenya's potential on the global stage.

“At KCB, we believe in pushing boundaries, and through our support, we hope to enable Kenyan drivers to excel while supporting Kenya’s socio-economic ambitions,” said Russo.

Sh100 million of the sponsorship cash will go to the Kenya Motorsport Federation for rally preparations, and Sh23 million will support the four Kenyan drivers selected by KCB.

Similarly, Sh86 million of the money has been set aside for activations, hospitality, branding and ‘Revvvisha na KCB’ campaign that seeks to encourage a savings culture among Kenyans.

KCB says since the WRC Safari Rally returned to Kenya in 2021, the bank, as the lead sponsor and, has spent Sh800 million and pumped Sh2.3 billion into motorsports in the past 20 years.
