It’s all smiles for NCBA Group’s current and new retail banking account holders as they will from July 1, 2024 enjoy their current products without any monthly charges.

The new adjustment will apply to salary, Platinum Flexi, Platinum Pay as you go, Gold Pay as you go, Premier All-in-One, Platinum All-in-One and Gold-All-in-One consumer accounts.

Other accounts set to benefit from the new financial arrangement are Commercial and SME including Business Current, Gold and Platinum.

NCBA Group Director for Retail Banking Tirus Mwithiga says, by removing the monthly account maintenance fees for local and foreign currency accounts, the lender seeks to help its customers to cope with the current economic challenges.

“This new era of no monthly fees is in line with our commitment to put our customers at the heart of everything we do. By waiving these fees, we are able to provide a buffer for customers enabling them to do much more with their money especially during these hard economic times,” stated Mwithiga.

He added: “With this change, clients will only incur banks charges for services and transactions that they have specifically utilized and which remain unchanged as per our published tariff guide.”

With the waiver, NCBA expects to rope in more customers and scale up its retail banking segment and as banks move away from ledger fee-based accounts to pay-as-you-go format.
