In the early hours of Monday, Jomo Kenyatta International Airport's Terminal 1E witnessed a small fire incident due to an electrical fault, as confirmed by the Kenya Airports Authority (KAA).

Fortunately, swift action from emergency services contained the situation promptly, with no injuries or fatalities reported.

"Kenya Airports Authority wishes to inform the public of a small fire incident that occurred at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport's Terminal 1E this morning, caused by an electrical fault," stated the KAA, adhering to their commitment to transparent communication.

Following safety protocols, power to Terminal 1E has been temporarily cut off as a precautionary measure, emphasizing KAA's unwavering dedication to ensuring the safety and security of all individuals within the airport precincts.

As a result, flight arrivals have been redirected to Terminal 1A until further notice to minimize disruptions.

"To mitigate any inconvenience this may cause, all flight arrival operations have been redirected to Terminal 1A until further notice," assured the KAA  emphasizing their priority towards passenger comfort and safety.
