In a bid to bolster financial inclusion and support the economic growth of the region, the National Commercial Bank of Africa (NCBA) has officially launched a new branch in Wote Town, Makueni County.
This strategic move is part of the bank's expansion plan, which includes opening ten branches across the country this year.
The inauguration ceremony of the NCBA branch, situated at Mbau Junction Mall, was graced by the presence of Lucy Mulili, the Deputy Governor of Makueni County.
Also in attendance were top NCBA executives, including Board Chairman James Ndegwa and Group Director Retail Banking, Tirus Mwithiga.
Mwithiga expressed the bank's commitment to fostering financial inclusion and supporting local economic development.

"Our decision as NCBA to open this branch demonstrates our dedication to supporting the needs of the people and businesses in this community. We believe that the growth and prosperity of this great county go hand in hand with our success as a bank," Mwithiga emphasised.
The newly established branch aims to address customer needs by offering a wide range of financial products and solutions, including savings and current accounts, unsecured loans, Lipa na NCBA, and asset finance solutions that can be approved within a remarkable 15 seconds.
In addition, mobile and Internet banking services will enable customers to access their accounts and obtain loans conveniently.
This expansion is set to benefit not only the residents of Wote Town but also the surrounding areas, particularly in agribusiness activities, including food processing, value addition, and agro-based industries.
The branch will also serve other key sectors such as transport, education, and trade.
NCBA's commitment to sustainability was highlighted by Group Chairman James Ndegwa. "Through our Sustainability Strategy, we announced an ambitious commitment to grow 10,000,000 trees by 2030," Ndegwa stated.
"We are excited to be extending our place in Wote in a transformative way as we pilot our tree-growing programme in the Eastern region, right next door in Kitui. In a couple of weeks, we will be back to plant 40,000 trees working directly with local farmers."
Mulili welcomed the expansion, saying, "With the arrival of NCBA, we have gained a reliable financial partner that understands the unique needs and potential of our county. I am confident that NCBA's presence here will play a significant role in supporting our vibrant businesses, empowering our residents, and contributing to the overall growth and development of Makueni County."
The opening of the NCBA branch in Wote Town marks a significant milestone in the bank's mission to provide accessible and innovative financial services to communities across Kenya.
As the institution continues to expand its footprint, it reinforces its commitment to fostering financial inclusion and facilitating economic growth in every region it serves.
