Immediate former KTDA Chairman David Ichoho has withdrawn a case he had filed at the High Court in Nairobi challenging his alleged coerced removal as the Chairman of the tea agency.

Through his lawyers, Njuguna Ng’ang’a and Associates, Ichoho filed a notice of withdrawal at the Judicial Review Division of the High Court on Monday.

“Take notice that the Applicant herein hereby gives notice and wholly withdraws the suit against the respondents herein,” read the notice filed on July 24, 2023.

Ichoho had enjoined KTDA CEO Wilson Muthaura, Board members and Company Secretary in a case in which he claimed he was forced to resign to pave way for leadership changes.

It remains unclear why the embattled former KTDA boss changed his mind about pursuing the suit to its logical conclusion coming amid reforms being spearheaded at the agency by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua after a two-day national tea conference held in Kericho in early July.

This comes a week after KTDA appointed Enos Njiru Njeru as the agency’s new National Chairman effective Monday July 17, 2023 after Ichoho’s sudden controversial resignation.
