The recently launched local online hailing cab company Showfa which seeks to set itself apart from the rest has set Sh300 as the subscription fees for drivers as opposed to charging commissions as other companies in the Kenyan market.
According to Showfa Business Development Director Dhruv Rajah, their drivers will pay a daily fee of Sh300 while the boda boda operators under Showfa will pay Sh50 daily.
Showfa has also offered flexible choices for remittance of the fee and operators can choose to pay on daily, weekly or monthly basis.
After paying the subscription fees, the operators will take the rest on the earnings they will have made in the course of the day.
“The daily subscription is as low as Sh300 for cars and Sh50 for Bodas,” Rajah said.

It seems Showfa want to cut their niche in the Kenyan market as they announced their intention to introduce ‘ambulance hailing services’ in which customers will be able to order emergency services through their app which is available for both Android and iOS users.
Showfa launched its services in the country last week on Monday in a ceremony that Trade and Industry Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria presided over.
During the launch, Showfa also emphasised that it will prioritise the well-being of its drivers.
“Any amount of money you make within a day, week, or month belongs to you. You don’t need to pay extra commissions whatsoever,” Showfa said.
“Our priority is to ensure our drivers draw maximum benefit from their trips,” the new taxi hailing service added.
Showfa joined the likes of key players in the industry such as Uber, Bolt, Little Cab, InDriver and Wasili.
