Kenya Railways Corporation on Thursday announced that it would reserve the last coach on its Nairobi Commuter train for use by primary and secondary school students.
According to Kenya Railways, the special coach will make it easier for students to commute in and around Nairobi without worrying about wrangling with adults for space in the other normal coaches.
"For the safety and comfort of school-going children, we have reserved the last coach in our commuter trains for them," the statement by Kenya Railways read.
The state corporation says its service crew and security agents will assist the students to ensure their experience is smooth and memorable, in the move lauded by Kenyans on social media.
