OPPO unveiled its latest flagship smartphone, the Find X8 Series, alongside the new ColorOS 15 on Thursday.

The launch, held in Bali, introduced devices aimed at setting new standards in flagship smartphone technology.

Pete Lau, Senior Vice President and Chief Product Officer at OPPO, described the Find X8 Series as a major advancement.

"Until now, flagship camera phones with ultra-zoom, power, battery life and AI tools have been weighed down by thick, heavy designs, but Find X8 Series changes the game," Lau stated.

"Find X8 is a thin and light powerhouse with ultra-beating battery life and a periscope zoom. Find X8 Pro takes zoom further, delivering ultra-grade experiences without the bulk. And with ColorOS 15’s smart and smooth experience, Find X8 Series is set to mark an exciting shift for the smartphone industry.”

Specifications and features

The Find X8 is 7.85mm thin, weighs 193g, and features a slim periscope zoom camera. Its 6.59-inch display includes an ultra-narrow 1.45mm border.

The device is available in three finishes—Star Grey, Space Black, and Shell Pink—designed to resist fingerprints.

Both Find X8 and Find X8 Pro include OPPO’s Hasselblad Master Camera System.

The AI Telescope Zoom activates at 10x magnification and beyond, while the Lightning Snap feature captures up to seven images per second without compromising photo quality.

A silicon-carbon battery powers the devices, with a capacity of 5630mAh for the Find X8.

The phones run on MediaTek Dimensity 9400 processors, designed for smooth and efficient performance throughout the day.

The new ColorOS 15 introduces features such as seamless visuals and AI tools, complementing the hardware for a more streamlined user experience.

Kenyan market focus

Fredrique Achieng, OPPO Kenya’s PR Manager, highlighted the significance of the Find X8 launch in Kenya.
