Samsung Electronics has unveiled the One UI 6 beta program for users of its recently launched Galaxy S23 series.
One UI 6 is based on Android 14, is more user-friendly and improves Samsung apps and features including a more streamlined design and wider options for personalization.
The program is a forerunner to the public release as it enables collection and inclusion of real user feedback to ensure the official software update gives the best possible experience.
“Our mission with One UI is to reflect the unique preferences of our users in every aspect of their mobile experience,” said Samsung Electronics Executive Vice President and Head of the Software Office, Mobile eXperience (MX) Business Janghyun Yoon.
Yoon added, “Every iteration of One UI responds to the needs of our user community, and we look forward to user feedback on One UI 6 as we create a richer, more intuitive experience for all.”

Simple Access
Many elements of the One UI 6 have been tweaked to create a more modern look and feel, including the impactful new default font and the new emojis on Samsung Keyboard.
The Quick Panel layout update allows a user easier access to their most used features and even easier to adjust screen visibility as the brightness control bar is available in the Panel.
There is also a new instant access option to the full Quick Panel, which provides faster access to settings with a single downward swipe at the upper right corner of the screen.
Personalized Experience
One UI 6 provides the user with fantastic new ways to customize their Galaxy experience based on their own habits and preferences.
For example, it is now possible to set different lock screens based on particular Modes and Routines and a new custom camera widget, allowing users to preselect a camera mode and a storage location.
One UI 6
On top of improved aesthetics and higher levels of personalization, the One UI 6 Beta Program software update simplifies everyday tasks to maximize productivity.
It also offers robust security and privacy with Galaxy S23 Series users urged to join the program to be among the first to try out the latest developments and share valuable feedback.
The program is available initially in the US, Germany and South Korea starting August 15, 2023.
