TECNO mobile’s premium sub-brand, Phantom, on Tuesday unveiled a partnership with the Eliud Kipchoge Foundation.
The partnership will support the foundation’s conservation of the environment and planting of more trees in Kipchoge’s home town of Kaptagat in Elgeyo Marakwet County.
The deal will see TECNO donate one per cent of the total sales it makes through the Phantom X2 series for a period of one year.
The Phantom X2 Series is now comprised of Phantom X2 5G (AD8), Phantom X2 Pro 5G (AD 9), and Phantom V Fold (AD10).
“TECNO has always been passionate about CSR. Environment is one of the key pillars that we focus on and we need to help protect mother nature and all its beauty,” said TECNO Mobile Kenya country manager Ray Fang.

Kipchoge appreciated the fact that his international marathon career had been made possible by an ideal training environment surrounded by trees and fresh air.
“Kaptagat is close to my heart, offering me a safe haven 6 days a week and that is why my dream is to bring the area that touches the Eldoret-Kaptagat highway back to its glory by planting indigenous trees,” he said.
The Phantom X2 Series also features the Phantom X2 Pro 5G Eco-Friendly Edition, which features a pioneering environmentally friendly back cover, build by recycling materials recovered from the ocean.
In a complex, multiple-stage process, the waste materials are then transformed into microfibers and then woven to form a strong, durable material used to create the cover.
The Edition has been nominated for and gotten key global design awards, including the LOOP Design Awards, and has a striking Mars Orange design expressing the stark landscapes of the Red Planet and reminds us of the importance of looking after earth and its oceans.
The Phantom X2 Series is available for purchase at all official TECNO stores, Jumia, Safaricom PLC retail outlets and on the TECNO website: https://mobile-phantom.com/ke/phantom-x2-pro.
The recommended retail price for Phantom X2 is Sh67,999 and Phantom X2 Pro is Sh82,999, even as the Phantom V Fold (AD10) is set to be formally unveiled in Kenya at the end of March 2023.
