Tecno Mobile Kenya has signed high flying Kenyan musician Jacob Obunga, popularly known as Otile Brown, as the Chief Creative Officer for its premium Camon 19 Series.

Tecno announced it had picked Otile as Camon 19 series smartphone was made available for pre-order from Monday June 6- 20, when the device will officially be unveiled in Kenya.

The Chinese smartphone manufacturer says the mobile device is designed for customers who are keen on enjoying crisp audio, pictures, and videos while on the go.

Pre-order customers are expected to receive Tecno accessories along with their Camon 19 series, which adopts an ultra-narrow frame design and a dual-ring triple- camera layout.

Its powerful camera with a double ring and three cameras effectively balances the camera and back panel aesthetic design to create the ultimate overall feeling.

The metal double ring is integrated with the professional triple camera using anodizing process, bringing a sense of professional performance to the double and triple camera.


Tecno Kenya says Otile will now be part of its team and will bring his unique creative ways by creating a song for Camon 19 and giving inspiration for the device's design.

The device boasts of improved music quality compared to the previous model, with the Kenyan musician’s song for the Camon 19 to be available on the device as a ringtone.

The Camon 19 has won several awards for its stylish new look including:

· The iF Design Award 2022 in the product and the telecommunication categories for outstanding product design of its CAMON 19 Pro.

· MUSE Design Award for Product Design Silver award for its exceptional craftsmanship of CAMON 19 Pro (Art Edition).

The latest series comes in three variants; Camon 19, Camon 19 Pro, as well as the Camon 19 Pro 5G, which will be available in Kenya after a month.

A pre-order device comes with an exclusive Sh7,000 package that includes earbuds and a backpack and is available in all Tecno retail shops, Safaricom, Masoko, Jumia and Kilimall.
