President Uhuru Kenyatta received the 18-carat gold 2022 FIFA World Cup trophy at State House, Nairobi on Thursday.


The trophy is on a two-day tour of Kenya ahead of this year's World Cup in Qatar. 

Legendary Brazilian footballer Juliano Belleti, a World Cup-winning defender, presented the trophy to the Head of State.

Belleti is accompanying the World Cup trophy on the tour 

The trophy will be displayed at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) for public viewing and photo session on Friday.

It is a tradition for the trophy to tour the world and is usually received by the heads of state.


The ceremony was attended by Sports CS Amina Mohamed, Sports PS Joe Okudo, Tourism CS Najib Balala, Industrialisation CS Betty Maina and Nairobi Governor Anne Kananu.
