Teamwork paid off handsomely in Nakuru as the four-ball of Enock Ogembo, Eleanor Wambui, John Kibet, and M.M. Macharia posted a solid 114 points to emerge the overall team winners of the KCB East Africa Golf Tour at the par-73 Nakuru Golf Club on Saturday.
Their consistent play across the course edged out the strong quartet of Stephen Macharia, Micah Thuo, Javan Muriithi, and William Kariuki, who returned 111 points to finish second in a competition that drew 228 golfers from around the region.
A delighted Ogembo credited preparation and team chemistry for their win.
“I want to say that I am very happy for this win. We have been practicing in preparation for today’s tournament. I have a solid team. Tomorrow, we will be heading to another tournament to sharpen our skills. We will bring the cup home at the tour’s grand finale,”
said Ogembo during the prize-giving ceremony.

In the individual contests, it was Stephen Ibwaga, playing off handicap 28, who stole the show with 44 stableford points, clinching the overall winner’s trophy.
Not far behind was Francis Wanjohi (handicap 19), who walked away with the men’s winner title after posting 41 points.
The women’s leaderboard was topped by a familiar name—Eleanor Wambui—who not only starred in the winning team but also picked up the lady winner award.
Playing off handicap 15, she returned an impressive 38 points, conquering a large field despite wet weather conditions.
Among KCB staff, it was Ibrahim Lande (handicap 11) who emerged top with 39 points, narrowly beating Anthony Mulisa (handicap 25) on countback.
The juniors’ category saw Cassius Pennington (handicap 21) post a commanding 43 points to take top honours.
Visiting golfer William Kariuki (handicap 17) from Njoro Golf Club took home the guest winner prize with 41 points.
Dr Terra Saidimu and Florence Wafula delivered the longest drives in the men’s and ladies’ categories respectively.
KCB is also walking the inclusivity talk and on Sunday held a junior golf clinic at the same venue, giving young aspiring golfers a chance to learn from the best.
And on Monday, more than 100 caddies are expected to tee off at Nakuru Golf Club, part of KCB’s commitment to bring everyone along in its East African golf journey.
