The fairways of Windsor Golf and Country Club turned into a classroom of champions on Friday as the Homeschool team once again proved their mettle, clinching victory in the second edition of the NCBA Interschools Golf Tournament.

Fresh off their previous victory, the Homeschoolers were not just playing—they were teaching a masterclass in consistency, focus, and skill.

At the heart of their triumph was Kanana Muthomi, who dazzled in the 13-14 years category with an incredible round of three under par 69.

Kanana’s game was poetry in motion—level par 36 on the front nine, followed by a sizzling 33 on the back, capped by six birdies that had spectators and fellow players alike applauding in admiration.

Coming in second was Rosslyn Academy, spearheaded by the talented Gachora siblings, Aidan and Ashley, alongside teammates Nawenxuan and Nawembo Li.

Aidan led the pack with a solid 80, followed by Ashley’s 82, Nawenxuan’s 84, and Nawembo’s 94.

In the fiercely contested 15-18 years category, another Homeschool team—Homeschool D—topped the leaderboard with a combined score of ten over par 82.

The star of the group, Junaid Manji, wowed the crowd with three birdies and a composed one over par 73.

Teammates Yuvral Rajput (74), Hetansh Shah (79), and Ishan Simani (88) ensured their team stayed comfortably ahead of the pack.

Braeside Garden Estate gave a valiant chase to secure second place, with Braeburn taking third position.

Braeside Lavington, led by Simaloi Mbeya and Cherono Kipkurui, finished fourth despite both carding 85s in a commendable effort.

“Today the course was hard. The second nine was playing hard but the first nine was ok. I think I could have played better but I’m ok with my score. I aim to improve,” said Simaloi.

Meanwhile, Arja Arora, representing the International School of Kenya, finished with a score of 108, helping his school tie for fifth place.

“I had a few pars and then a few bogies, so overall I think I played well but there is still a lot of work to do especially on my chipping,” Arora explained.

As the sun set over Windsor, one thing was clear—Kenya’s junior golfers are brimming with talent, tenacity, and a hunger to grow.

Their next test comes at the NCBA US Kids Golf Spring Local Tour Championship set for May 25, 2025 at Muthaiga Golf Club.
