Kenya’s national Harambee Stars finished the Africa Cup of Nations Group G qualifiers on a high note after beating Togo 2-1 at the Kegue Stadium in the capital Lome.

Abdallah Hassan opened the scoring sheet for the Stars then Masoud Juma doubled the advantage, with the Sparrowhawks getting their lone goal through Henri Eninful.

Stars, led by head coach Jacob ‘Ghost’ Mulee, were forced to play minus four players after they allegedly tested positive for Covid-19 ahead of their crucial 2022 Afcon qualifier match against their hosts Togo, as they bowed out of next year's competition.

Those who tested positive for Coronavirus and missed the clash are team captain Michael Olunga, defender Joash Onyango, midfielder Lawrence Juma, and goalkeeper Ian Otieno.

Harambee Stars left Kenya in the weekend and all the team members tested negative for the deadly virus before boarding their plane for the Afcon qualifier.

However, Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has contested the test results even as four top Stars players were forced to watch the match from the benches. FKF have contested the results but the four will not play.
