Harambee Stars goalkeeper Patrick Matasi and four of his family members are recuperating after getting involved in a road accident at Lessos along the along Nakuru-Kapsabet highway on June 1, 2021.

The Stars goalkeeper was en route Nairobi from Kakamega when a tyre burst made him lose control of his vehicle after hitting a pothole and sent the vehicle rolling several times.

An anonymous source said that they sustained serious injuries and were rushed to Kakamega County Teaching and Referral Hospital.

The source said that they are all out of danger and recuperating from the injuries they sustained in the accident.

Matasi is one of the most established Kenyan goalkeepers having played in the Kenyan Premier League and for the national team Harambee Stars.
