The US on Wednesday issued a travel ban to its citizens against travel to Kenya on grounds of Covid-19, terrorism, crime and kidnapping.
America’s Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued a Level 4 travel health notice against Kenya due to fresh surge of the third wave of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The levels on the travel advisory by CDC range from 1 to 4, which is the highest level, with the center advising Americans to avoid travel to Kenya and those there to take precautions.
According to CDC, Level 1 asks people to exercise normal precaution, Level 2 urges for increased caution, 3 asks them to reconsider travelling while 4 tells them not to travel.
This comes as Kenya allowed international flights to continue operating but under tight restrictions, as air, road and sea transport are banned Nairobi, Machakos, Kiambu, Kajiado and Nakuru, which have been declared disease-infected.
