Motorists using the Nairobi Southern Bypass are advised to plan alternative routes following the temporary closure of a section of the road between the Ole Sereni Interchange and Ngong Road Interchange.

This closure, announced by the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA), is set to commence on Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. and will last until Sunday, January 5, 2025, at midnight.

"The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) would like to inform the public that a section of Nairobi Southern Bypass from Ole Sereni Interchange to Ngong Road Interchange (both carriageways) shall be temporary closed," KeNHA announced.

The closure is necessary to facilitate the rehabilitation of expansion joints across all the bridges along the section, as well as the reconstruction of the concrete pavement at the Virtual Weighbridge.

During this period, all traffic will be diverted through Mombasa Road Highway, Lang'ata Road, and Ngong Road.

"All traffic will be diverted through Mombasa Road Highway, Lang'ata Road and Ngong Road as an alternative route during this period," the authority advised.

Motorists are urged to exercise caution around the work areas and adhere to the traffic management plan.

They are also asked to cooperate with the police and traffic marshals who will be present to ensure the smooth flow of traffic.

KeNHA further emphasized the importance of following these guidelines to avoid unnecessary delays and ensure the safety of both motorists and construction workers.
