Former NTV anchor Winnie Mukami has died from complications linked to Covid-19.

Mukami passed away on Wednesday at a hospital in Nairobi where she was being treated after contracting Coronavirus.

She graced Kenyan tv screens after joining NTV in 2003 but launched her career at the government-owned KBC where she worked as TV and radio presenter and producer.

Mukami left NTV in 2010 after a seven-year stint to establish her own public relations company, Winners Frontiers International Limited, which she operated until her death.

She was in 2018 appointed to the board of the Kenya Pipeline Company for a period of three years.

The media guru’s death came two days after Royal Media Services Managing Editor Robin Njogu also died from Covid-19 while being treated at Aga Khan University Hospital, Nairobi.

Friends, colleagues and other Kenyans have eulogised Winnie Mukami as hard-worker and a gentle soul who left too soon.
