In a shocking turn of events, socialite Starlet Wahu met a tragic end on Thursday at the Papino Apartments in Nairobi's South B Estate.
The 26-year-old, a younger sibling to the controversion pastor Victor Kanyari was discovered lifeless in a pool of blood inside an Airbnb unit, sparking a police investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.
Wahu had checked into the apartment on Wednesday evening accompanied by 34-year-old John Matara, the man now identified as a person of interest in the case.
CCTV footage from the apartments captured the duo entering an elevator and later disembarking on the fourth floor, where they had reportedly rented a room for the night.
The grim discovery unfolded when Florence Ngina, the owner of the Airbnb, alerted authorities that Matara had hastily departed the premises on Thursday morning, his clothes stained with blood.

Acting on this information, a security guard revealed that the apartment had been locked from the outside, prompting Ngina to intervene.
Using a spare key, Ngina gained access to the apartment, only to find Wahu's lifeless body in the living room. '
The South B police station received a prompt report, leading to the immediate arrival of police and Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) officers at the crime scene.
Police reports indicate that the apartment displayed signs of a struggle, with the scene being described as bloody, disarrayed, and chaotic.
Sources privy to the matter revealed that Wahu had sustained stab wounds to her head and right thigh during the incident.
The investigation took a disturbing turn when authorities discovered HIV testing kits, used condoms, bhang, a bottle of alcohol, and a blood-stained kitchen knife believed to be the murder weapon at the scene.

Wahu's body has since been moved to City Mortuary for storage pending a post-mortem examination.
She was later laid to rest on Saturday at her parents’ home in Kamulu.
As the probe progressed, police successfully tracked down Matara using his phone to Mbagathi County Hospital, where he was reportedly receiving treatment for a stab wound.
Following his discharge, Matara, accompanied by a friend, was arrested and detained for questioning.
