Kenya Airways (KQ), recognized as "The Pride of Africa," has issued an important notice to its valued guests regarding possible disruptions in its flight schedule during the upcoming holiday season.

In a letter dated December 8, 2023, Allan Kilavuka, the Group Managing Director & CEO of Kenya Airways, addressed the challenges the airline is currently facing in the global supply chain for aircraft spare parts.

The increased demand for air travel during the festive season has prompted the airline to share crucial information with its passengers.

According to the notice, the challenges in the aircraft spare parts global supply chain are resulting in extended ground time for maintenance of their aircraft, potentially leading to the grounding of one or more planes.

"Our current flight schedule may experience disruptions in the coming weeks mainly due to challenges in the aircraft spare parts global supply chain. These challenges are leading to extended ground time of our aircraft for maintenance," Kenya Airways said.

This decision aligns with the airline's unwavering commitment to ensuring the highest levels of safety and reliability in its operations.

Kilavuka empathized with the potential impact of schedule changes on travellers' plans and expressed sincere apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

He assured passengers that the Kenya Airways team is actively working to minimize disruptions and to keep passengers informed throughout the process.

"Please be assured that our team is working tirelessly to minimize these disruptions and to keep you informed every step of the way," KQ said.

In the interim, passengers are urged to stay updated on any changes to their flight schedules by checking the airline's website, contacting the Customer Excellency Centre (CEC), or utilizing the mobile app.

Kenya Airways also expressed its dedication to providing timely information and support to assist passengers in navigating these potential challenges.

The airline anticipates that these circumstances may persist for approximately two weeks.
