In a commendable display of integrity, a Police Officer in Mombasa has thwarted an attempt to corruptly influence an ongoing investigation into fraudulent activities at the Mombasa port.
The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) swiftly acted on a complaint from the diligent officer, resulting in the arrest of three individuals.
The individuals arrested, namely Philip Muigai Nduati, Boniface Aggrey Ouma, and Isaac Wanaloba Kenyari, stand accused of offering a substantial bribe of Sh1.7 million to the Police Officer in an effort to obstruct the ongoing investigation.
Following the receipt of the complaint, EACC moved swiftly to apprehend the suspects.
The trio was processed at the EACC's Mombasa offices and subsequently booked at the Mombasa Central Police Station, where they will remain in custody overnight pending their arraignment on Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. before the Anti-Corruption Court.
