President William Ruto has invited local and international partners and investors to back Kenya in its efforts to expand the country’s Digital Super Highway.
President Ruto affirmed the government's commitment to bolster high-speed internet to transform the country by creating more job opportunities and growing the economy.
Speaking at the Eldoret State Lodge in Uasin Gishu County on Tuesday, he emphasized the far-reaching benefits of extending high-speed internet to even to the remotest grassroots.
The Head of State noted that the expansion of internet access to cover all parts of the country will significantly help in harnessing the country’s economic potential to the fullest.
“In addition to fibre connectivity, new emerging connectivity solutions such as satellite will be considered,” said Ruto.

His sentiments were echoed by Karibu Connect, a global partner of tech billionaire Elon Musk's SpaceX, who have shown interest in joining Kenya’s digital transformative journey.
Also present were Elcome International CEO Jimmy Grewal and Africa Capital Chairman Kavit Handa, signifying the growing global interest in the internet connectivity endeavour.
The government's recent removal of the 30 per cent local shareholding restriction in the ICT space has been poised as strategic in attracting more technological innovation to Kenya.
