Kakuzi PLC has successfully completed the total makeover of Kinyangi Primary School as part of its pledge to quality education and community development.

This significant initiative is set to benefit approximately 280 pupils, providing them with a conducive learning environment and access to essential resources.

The renovation project, which commenced in November 2022, is a testament to Kakuzi PLC's dedication to the realization of Sustainable Development Goal 4 - Quality Education.

The transformation of Kinyangi Primary School is poised to immensely enhance the school environment, ultimately raising the standard of education at the institution.

With great pride, Chris Flowers, Managing Director of Kakuzi PLC, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "We are thrilled to celebrate the successful handover of the renovated Kinyangi Primary School. This project represents our commitment to providing high-quality education and ensuring that pupils have access to the resources and facilities they need to thrive."

The extensive renovation efforts undertaken by Kakuzi PLC went beyond mere cosmetic enhancements.

The company generously donated classroom furniture, computers, handwashing tanks, and constructed an ablution block. Additionally, Kakuzi PLC facilitated the connection of water to the school, a vital resource for the students and staff.

To further support the educational endeavours at Kinyangi Primary School, the company appointed two fully paid BOM (Board of Management) teachers and established a scholarship for the top-performing pupil.

Expressing heartfelt gratitude for Kakuzi's remarkable support, David Gitonga, the Headteacher of Kinyangi Primary School took a walk down memory lane highlighting the previously dilapidated state of the classrooms.

"We are very grateful to Kakuzi for the support it has given to our school," Gitonga said.

'The school initially was in a sad manner, the roofs were falling, and some were blown by the wind, the walls were cracked, and there were no doors in some classrooms. When we wrote a request for renovation, Kakuzi told us to quote every class to be renovated and so far, they have worked on all the blocks."

According to Kakuzi, the impact of the renovated Kinyangi Primary School extends beyond the physical enhancements.

The revitalized learning environment is expected to create a positive and empowering atmosphere for students, encouraging them to reach their full potential.

Moreover, this transformation instills a sense of pride and ownership within the local community, as they witness the investment in their children's education and the future of their community.

Kakuzi PLC's initiative to uplift Kinyangi Primary School serves as a shining example of corporate social responsibility and a commitment to education.

Through their efforts, they are not only transforming the physical infrastructure but also nurturing a brighter future for the students and fostering a stronger community.

As the newly renovated Kinyangi Primary School opens its doors to students, it marks the beginning of a transformative journey, empowering generations to come with the gift of quality education and opening doors to countless opportunities.
