In a powerful address at the Gatundu stadium on Sunday, Trade and Industry CS Moses Kuria urged former President Uhuru Kenyatta to respect President William Ruto, the democratic process and accept the results of the recent elections.
Speaking as the chief guest at musician Ngaruiya Junior's album launch, Kuria, emphasized the importance of unity and reminded Kenyans that their country is greater than any individual or personal interest.
"Mr. Uhuru Kenyatta must respect President William Ruto and accept that he won the elections. This country is bigger than Uhuru and his personal interests," proclaimed Kuria, firmly asserting his position on the matter.
The call for respect and acknowledgment of election results stems from an ongoing political dispute between supporters of Kenyatta’s preferred candidate in the previous presidential election Raila Idinga and President Ruto supporters across the country
The aftermath of the elections has been characterized by tensions and disagreements between the two leaders and their respective supporters.

During his speech, Mr. Kuria expressed his unwavering loyalty to the current government, stating, "I'll personally defend and safeguard this Government as I did to my fellow constituency mate when he was the president."
His commitment to the government was met with enthusiastic applause from the assembled crowd, comprising fellow leaders and fans of musician Ngaruiya Junior, fondly known as the 'King Of Kigooco.'
Highlighting the significance of the Mt. Kenya region, Mr. Kuria emphasized that it is both a significant stakeholder and beneficiary of the current government.
He further declared that the region will no longer tolerate any perceived mistreatment or disrespect.
"The Mt. Kenya region is both a great shareholder and beneficiary of this Government, and we won't take the nonsense anymore," proclaimed Mr. Kuria, stirring emotions among the crowd.
Kuria’s claims come as a section of the ruling party has accused Uhuru of bankrolling the ongoing public protests against the government for failing to keep it’s election promises
As tensions continue to rise in the country over the high cost of living, the call for unity and respect takes on heightened importance.
