More than 45 people are feared to have died and scores injured after a truck lost control and rammed several matatus, boda bodas and pedestrians on the Nakuru-Kericho highway.

The driver is reported to have lost control of the truck, which then ploughed into PSV matatus packed by the roadside picking passengers, as well as traders and pedestrians.

The crash occurred at around 6.30pm at the Londiani junction and has left tens of other people admitted in various hospitals in Kericho County, many nursing serious injuries.

The ill-fated truck was headed for Kericho from the Nakuru side when it veered off the road as the driver attempted to avert hitting a commuter bus that had stalled on the busy road.
