A Cabinet Secretary and a Member of Parliament, both from Mt Kenya region, are entangled in an ugly tussle after the CS is said to have forcefully occupied the house in Karen, Nairobi.

Gatanga MP Edward Muriu from Murang’a County is accusing Labour and Social Protection CS Florence Bore of moving into his house at the leafy Amara Ridge after expressing her interest in buying the said property.

The first-time MP claims Bore, who is out of the country on official business, of occupying the house minus signing a sales agreement and paying for the house as required by the law.

The ruling UDA Party MP accuses the official in the President William Ruto Government of using the police to frustrate efforts by his family to remove her from the house for repairs.

The Kenya Kwanza Government CS is said to have expressed interest in the said Karen property and had even visited the lawmaker’s home but was yet to provide any pledge.

“There’s no agreement signed whatsoever, there’s no transaction that has taken place. This house still belongs to me and my husband. So why it is occupied right now, I am shocked as much as you are,” lamented Maria Muriu, the MP’s wife.

Bore is alleged to have taken advantage when the couple was out of the country to attend their daughter’s graduation a fortnight ago to move into the house.

“The CS showed interest in the house, she even came to my home, gave us an offer of Sh90 million. We told her the last price the house is going for is Sh120 million. Thereafter I traveled to the US for my daughter’s graduation, when I came back on Wednesday, I brought my people to come and clean the house and mowed the lawn. To my shock, the house was occupied,” Maria Muriu added.

The irked UDA MP and his wife are demanding that Bore moves out of their property in Karen for the contractor, Peter Kariuki, to finish renovations to allow his family to move in.
