Safaricom, the leading telecommunications company in Kenya, has announced the appointment of Anthony Gacanja as the new Director Network, effective 19 June 2023.
Safaricom expressed their delight in welcoming Gacanja back to the company, recognizing his outstanding credentials and leadership qualities.
The telecommunications giant is confident that Gacanja's appointment will significantly contribute to further enhancing the overall network infrastructure and customer experience.
"We are pleased to announce the appointment of Anthony Gacanja as Director Network, effective 19 June 2023," the announcement read.
Reporting directly to the Chief Technology & Information Officer, Gacanja will be entrusted with overseeing the design, construction, deployment, performance, and improvement of all network infrastructure.

Gacanja's primary objective will be to ensure the delivery of superior quality of service to Safaricom's esteemed customers.
In addition, he will be responsible for managing the efficient delivery of existing Information System Services while also spearheading the implementation of new systems to further elevate the company's technological capabilities.
Bringing with him an impressive track record of over twenty years in the field, Gacanja's extensive experience spans various key areas of Information Technology.
His expertise includes Information Technology Governance and Operations, Cyber Security, Information Risk Assurance, and Software Development.
"Anthony brings onboard over twenty years’ experience in Information Technology Governance and Operations, Cyber Security, Information Risk Assurance and Software Development," Safaricom said.
Gacanja joins the esteemed telecommunications company from the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK).
Prior to his tenure at CBK, he held various notable positions at Safaricom, including the role of Head of Department, Technology Security.
