Police officers in Nairobi on Saturday arrested four suspects linked to the robbery of Sh50 million from a Chinese man’s house in Lang'ata estate on Thursday night.
The Chinese national, Wang Daoli, is reported to have left his house at around 6:30pm Thursday to go and mark the Chinese New Year leaving behind his driver and house help.
However, on returning at around 10.30pm, he found his safe that he normally stores in his bedroom had gone missing prompting him to report the theft at the Lang’ata Police Station.
“Police officers visited the scene and established that the bedroom door was not broken into, hence possibility of an inside job. Besides, the compound is well guarded,” says a police report.
Police said detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) are interrogating four of the Chinaman's workers who were arrested, including the house help, driver and supervisor as their investigation seeks to piece together what transpired.
