The St. John Ambulance, a leading provider of first aid and emergency medical services has issued a public notice informing the general public of their upcoming event that will result in traffic disruption along a major Nairobi highway.

The organisation announced this in a statement it issued on Friday evening via its social media accounts.

According to the notice, the affected areas include Uhuru Highway, Mombasa Road, Nyayo Stadium, Bellevue, and General Motors/Sameer Business Park.

“We wish to notify the general public that there will be traffic disruption along UHURU HIGHWAY - MOMBASA ROAD - NYAYO STADIUM - BELLEVUE - GENERAL MOTORS/SAMEER BUSINESS PARK,” the statement read.

“This is due to the St John Ambulance Annual Save a Life Walkathon 2023 taking place on Saturday 27th May, 2023 from 6:00AM to 12:00PM.”

These roads are likely to experience traffic congestion and possible delays as participants take part in the charitable walkathon organized by St. John Ambulance.

To facilitate the flow of traffic and minimize inconveniences, the Traffic Police will be present along the designated route.

Their primary responsibility will be to manage the traffic, guide motorists towards alternative routes, and maintain order throughout the event.

St. John Ambulance encourages motorists to plan their journeys in advance and use alternative routes to avoid unnecessary delays.

“Motorists are advised to use alternative routes to avoid any inconveniences. Traffic Police will be available at the designated route to enable smooth flow of traffic,” the notice read.
