Kisumu County Governor Anyang' Nyong'o has refuted claims made by Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi that investments in Kisumu are insecure.
Speaking on behalf of the people of Kisumu County, Nyong'o welcomed visitors to the county and assured them of their safety.
He stated that propaganda from those jealous of their progress had attempted to portray Kisumu as an insecure place, which he refuted.
According to Nyon'o, Mudavadi recently portrayed Kisumu as a place where investments are insecure while addressing a partisan audience in Western Kenya.
However, Nyong'o revealed that Musalia himself is a landowner and notable investor in the city of Kisumu, and he had not received any complaints from him regarding the insecurity of his investments and properties in Kisumu.

"Let it be known that Musalia himself is a landowner and a notable investor in the city of Kisumu," Nyong'o said.
"I have not, as the Governor of this great County, received any complaints from him regarding the insecurity of his investments and properties in Kisumu."
Nyong'o accused Musalia of recklessly trying to besmirch Kisumu's good name to achieve a narrow and selfish political ambition by mouthing typical UDA/Kenya Kwanza propaganda replete with ethnic profiling.
He further reminded the people of Kisumu that they are faithful to their party leader Raila Odinga and the Azimio la Umoja Coalition in their struggle to liberate the people of Kenya from political oppression, electoral injustices, economic marginalization, and growing poverty and hunger.
The Governor also revealed that during their demonstrations, goons were bused into Kisumu specifically to cause havoc in the Central Business District, and he called on Musalia to help stop this kind of sabotage by elements in the Kenya Kwanza brigade.

Nyong'o further questioned Musalia's urgent concern about the recent sacking of Madam Matilda Sakwa from being the Chief Executive of the NYS for no good reason except that she is a Luhya and her successor a Kalenjin.
Nyong'o concluded by reminding Musalia that the success of the counties means economic growth for the whole nation, which is the reason they fought for devolution and what the Azimio La Umoja Coalition stands for.
He stated that they would demonstrate peacefully and not allow their detractors to destroy the gains they have made in terms of investments and development.
