Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga claims the infamous Jose Camargo and three other Venezuelan nationals are back in Kenya to ostensibly tinker with the IEBC election servers.

Camargo was extensively mentioned in the hearings of the case filed by Raila and his Azimio brigade at the Supreme Court challenging the outcome of the August 2022 presidential poll.

Speaking at Kamukunji grounds in Nairobi’s Eastlands on Sunday, Raila claimed the four Venezuelans had met former Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission Chairman Wafula Chebukati and Communications Authority of Kenya (CA) Chairman Ezra Chiloba even as he did not avail proof to that effect.

The former Prime Minister also alleged that the Venezuelan nationals had been residing in the plush Kileleshwa area but had since relocated as they conduct their “illegal operations.”

“We have information that the mercenaries who accessed the servers during the elections, one of them Jose Carmago, are in the country,” said Raila at the Kamukunji political rally.

He added, “They were living at a hotel in Kileleshwa but left after realising we were aware of their mission and moved to another hotel in Karen and are now at the Maasai Mara Lodge.”

Earlier at a service at St Stephen’s ACK Church in Nairobi, Raila intimated that Azimio will resume anti-government demos next week if President William Ruto ignores their demands.

He said Azimio is ready for talks with Kenya Kwanza as long as they dwelt on lowering the cost of living, opening IEBC election servers, reviewing the IEBC Selection Panel, respecting multi-party democracy and removing Eldas MP Adan Keynan from its dialogue team.

“If we don’t hear from Ruto next week we shall resume mass protests immediately after Ramadhan,” he said.
