The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has impounded a commuter matatu after an incident in which a female passenger was pushed out of the moving vehicle to her death in Juja.
However, DCI has revealed that the driver and conductor of the said matatu, plate number KCZ 729C and belonging to Memba Sacco, had gone into hiding following the shocking incident.
The impounding of the matatu follows a passionate appeal by Judy Wanjiku’s family in Kiharu, Murang’a County for justice for their daughter following the incident that caused her death.
Wanjiku, who worked at Equity Bank Ruiru branch, is said to have been pushed out of the matatu by the crew in Juja, Kiambu County on Saturday February 6.
She is reported to have died a few hours later due to the serious injuries she sustained during the tragic incident at around 6:30pm.

Her family is pleading for the arrest and prosecution of the matatu crew for justice to be served.
