Interior CS Kindiki Kithure has allocated tasks to three Cabinet Administrative Secretaries (CASs) who were last week assigned to the Ministry of Interior and National Administration.

In assigning the responsibilities, Kindiki congratulated former governor Samuel Ole Tunai, former MP Millicent Omanga and Amb Mohamud Saleh for joining the key ministry.

“Congratulations to the newly appointed Chief Administrative Secretaries (CASs) Hon. Samuel Ole Tunai, Hon. Millicent Omanga and Amb. Mohamud Saleh on appointment in the Ministry of Interior & National Administration. Welcome to the Ministry,” said Kindiki.

The CS said the allocation of the different responsibilities to Ole Tunai, Omanga and Mohamud is meat to ensure there is an efficient delivery of services in the ministry.

He, however, clarified that the new CASs will take up their roles after the court decides on a case filed by the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) challenging the appointment of 50 new CASs.

Kindiki has assigned the roles as captured below:

• Samuel ole Tunai - State Department for Internal Security & National Administration.

• Millicent Omanga - State Department for Immigration & Citizen Services in charge of reforms in the Civil Registration Services (CRS), National Registration Bureau (NRB) and the Department of Refugee Affairs (DRA).

• Mohamud Saleh - State Department for Correctional Services in charge of reforms in the Kenya Prisons Service (KPS), Borstal Institutions and the Probation Department.

Justice Hedwig Ongudi on Friday March 24, stopped the 50 new CASs from assuming office or receiving any salary until the LSK petition challenging their legality is determined.
