Kenyan female rally driver Maxine Wahome has been charged with the murder of her late rally driver boyfriend Asad Khan.
Appearing before Justice Lilian Mutende virtually on Wednesday, Maxine denied the murder charge.
She appeared virtually to enter her plea after her lawyer Philip Murgor withdrew the application seeking a physical court appearance.
Maxine, in a filed affidavit, said Asad injured himself seriously on the balcony door window panes and later took himself to the hospital.
“It is at this point that the deceased thereafter injured himself on the balcony door window panes and took himself to the hospital,” reads the affidavit in part.

It went on, “That I was advised by my parents not to leave the house and wait for the police.”
Murgor asked the court to allow for the argument on her bail application on Wednesday.
The prosecution asked the court to remand Maxine at the Langata Women's Prison in Nairobi until then.
Asad succumbed to serious injuries sustained in the house he shared with Maxine following a domestic row and it remains unclear what transpired and how he sustained the wounds.
It is believed the rally lovebirds were involved in an ugly quarrel inside Asad’s apartment at Preston Court in Kileleshwa, in which he sustained serious injuries and lost a lot of blood resulting in his sudden demise.
