Kenya and the Republic of Congo will review visa requirements for their citizens jointly.

This was announced by President William Ruto after meeting the Minister of State of Regional Planning, Infrastructure and Road Maintenance of the Republic of the Congo Jean-Jacques Bouya.


Ruto met Bouya who is President Denis Sassou Nguesso’s special envoy to the State House, Nairobi on Wednesday.

According to Ruto, the review of visa requirements is part of a long-term plan to create a business-friendly environment within the region.

“Kenya and the Republic of the Congo will jointly review visa requirements for their citizens as part of our long-term plan to install a business-friendly regime in the region,” Ruto said.

The Head of State also expressed his belief that the move will strengthen ties between the two countries while boosting trade and investments.


“We believe this will deepen connectivity, advance integration and boost investments and trade between the two countries,” Ruto said.
