Police were forced to take over a burial service in Kisii after MPs allied to Deputy President William Ruto and ODM leader Raila Odinga exchanged kicks and blows.
Bodyguards of Ruto and Odinga were forced to shield them as a section of their allies degenerated into fist fights.
Trouble started when Dagoretti North MP Simba Arati told Ruto that those accompanying him to Kisii were of questionable character.

Arati also irked the DP’s allies when he told him to apologise to the region for sins committed against them during the 2007 post election violence.
“We have several leaders here in the company of our Deputy President who have a tainted life. These are fraudsters who should not be allowed to take up any leadership position," Arati said.

Osoro, who had spoken before Arati, dismissed the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) Bill saying it allegedly ignored submissions made by the Gusii Community.
"We cannot support a document that seeks to benefit a few selfish leaders in the Country,” said Osoro.
